HAPPRY CARNIVAL!!!

Hi there!!!
Yesterday was such a Happy day in our School. We celebrated Carnival, which, as you know, is a festival in which we dress up and go in parades to celebrate the begginig of advent, which is the time before Easter.
This year, we choose Egypt as our main topic, and so we made up costumes of egyptians for our children.
Wallace scaried them all dressed up as a mummy...

We celebrate what we call an "Encounter" in which all the children from the different villages meet up in one of them and spend the day together. This year, we met up in La Horcajada, the main village of our schools. The Children from that village welcomed their partners with a banner.

Here we can see all of us together in the school, Can you find Wallace amongst all of us????

We went to the Gim to divide them in groups. Here you can see the pupils from the different villages.

From La Horcajada

From La Aldehuela

From Aldeanueva de Santa Cruz

And from Bohoyo.

Once we did a presentation game we went into the workshops where we begand making our costumes

In this one they prepared what Egyptians called "pectoral" which was a kind of necklace made of gold and jewells.

In this other they made up a "Nemes", which was a kind of hat, which our children coloured and cut up.

This last workshop consisted in doing wristbands and belts

After so much work we had a break and ate some snacks

And teachers took to have some pictures in our hand made Photocall

Once we had all done we dressed up and walked around the village in a parade for our parents and relatives to see us.

Here you can see some of our teachers.

Añadir leyenda

And after the parade we had some chocolate and cake which is very typical in Carnival.
